Jackson State baseball complex one of several sites near campus damaged by fire

Authorities in Jackson are investigating several fires set near the Jackson State University campus, including one that started at the school’s baseball complex.

According to a report by The Clarion-Ledger, the Jackson Fire Department has identified at least seven fires that were believed to have been set overnight.

Two local churches, a gas station and Robert Braddy Sr. Field at JSU were targeted, fire officials said.  No injuries have been reported.

Fire officials have begun an arson investigation. The extent of the damage at the JSU baseball field is unknown.
