Jake Paul Reveals He Showed Mike Tyson Mercy in Their Fight – ‘I Didn’t Want to Hurt Him’ | WATCH

*As you know, Friday night Jake Paul faced off against boxing legend Mike Tyson, and the young social media star/boxer is now revealing he displayed a certain level of mercy during their fight.

Following his unanimous decision victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Paul a/k/a “El Gallo,” shared that he noticed Tyson’s struggles in the ring and chose to ease up on his aggression to avoid a knockout.

Acknowledging the changes in his approach during the fight, the 27-year-old star explained:

“Yeah, definitely,” when asked if he had intentionally dialed it back in Round 3. “I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”

Given Tyson’s age (58) and recent performances, this admission resonated with many viewers who suspected that Paul was holding back. Paul also noted that he didn’t feel any significant punch power coming from the former heavyweight champion.

“That’s been pretty common for me over the course of my fighting career.” This reflects Paul’s ongoing confidence in the ring, despite the notable experience and legacy of his opponent.

During the latter part of the match, attendees expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of engagement from both fighters, leading to boos ringing through the arena. Reacting to the crowd’s response, Paul maintained that he did his best to entertain but ultimately found it challenging to engage with an opponent who seemed to be mostly “surviving in the ring.”

“So I couldn’t really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool or whatever, but I don’t care about what people have to say,” Jake Paul added. “They’re always going to have something to say and that it is what it is.”

Despite showing signs of age during the match, Mike Tyson may not be ready to hang up his gloves just yet. He has already issued a challenge to Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul, signaling that the former heavyweight champion is still eager to compete in the boxing world.

As this fight continues to spark discussions about sportsmanship and the evolving nature of celebrity boxing, viewers are left to consider the balance between entertainment and the risks involved in stepping into the ring—especially when legendary figures like Tyson are involved.
