*Jasmine Guy has earned her first-ever Emmy nomination for her work on the Tubi series “The Chronicles of Jessica Wu.”
The “Different World” star is nominated in the category of Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series, Shadow & Acts reports.
According to IMDB, “The Chronicles of Jessica Wu” centers around “a young girl on the Autism spectrum who has mastered martial arts. She becomes a Hero in her city and takes down some of the most ruthless villains in Los Angeles.”
Guy’s character Barbara Baldwin appears in an episode titled “Wanna Get Away?”
On Instagram, the series congratulated Guy on her nomination, writing: “We are happy to announce that @iamjasmineguy has been NOMINATED for her role as Barbara Baldwin in the hit show Chronicles of Jessica Wu. This is Jasmine Guy’s FIRST nomination. We are truly honored to be part of history.”
In the comments of the post, one follower wrote, “Congratulations Jasmine I have watched you on Wesley Family Christmas and My Other Mother!!! You deserve this award!!!”
Another added, “Icon!!! Long time in the making. Congratulations!!!”
Guy played Whitley Gilbert for six seasons on the hit comedy series “A Different World: from 1987 to 1993. The role earned her four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
