The Brooklyn native will be joined by Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker who is set to write the feature film currently in early development.

Deadline reported that the movie will follow civil rights attorney, Martin Grey, who fights for survival after joining an elite Black organization with a disturbing secret.

Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan will also produce with Niles Kirchner and Bill Strauss. Smith, Mike Epps, and Dana Honor will executive produce.

This marks the second project between Hov and Kaplan this year as their ABC limited series Women of the Movement was announced on the 65th anniversary of Emmett Till‘s death. The six-episode series will also feature Will Smith as the producer and focuses on Mamie Till Mobley’s devotion to seeking justice for her son.
