Joyner Lucas is fanning out after making Eminem’s GOAT list.
On Saturday, the Detroit rap legend revealed his greatest rappers of all time, naming late rap icons like Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. as well as living legends like JAY-Z and Nas. He also bestowed praise upon younger MCs including Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Joyner Lucas.
After seeing his name mentioned by his idol, an ecstatic Lucas shared his reaction, comparing Eminem’s shoutout to that of Michael Jordan. “if you played ball and studied Michael Jordan as the greatest, and then Michael Jordan name drops you as one of the greatest ball players of all time. That’s how this feels to me,” he wrote alongside a screenshot of the tweet.
Lucas and Eminem have collaborated in the past on “Lucky You” for Em’s album Kamikaze. The Massachusetts MC even came to Em’s defense amid his beef with Nick Cannon last year.
The 31-year-old MC recently collaborated with another one of his idols, Will Smith, on the remix to his single “Will” off his album ADHD.
Lucas is in legendary company. LL Cool J, André 3000, Rakim, and Lil Wayne were also included on Eminem’s GOAT list.
