Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, the teen charged with killing two people and injuring another during the protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August was released from custody Friday afternoon after posting $2 million bail, CNN reports.

As ESSENCE previously reported, Lindell, founder and CEO of My Pillow, Inc., is a close friend of President Donald Trump with no medical background who has continuously pushed Oleander 4X—the botanical extract oleandrin, which is derived from the oleander plant and toxic to humans when consumed raw—as a treatment for COVID-19.
Rittenhouse is charged with two counts of felony homicide in the deaths of Anthony M. Huber, 26, and Joseph Rosenbaum, 36. He is also charged with felony attempted homicide for wounding Gaige Grosskreutz, 22, with possession of a dangerous weapon while under the age of 18, which is a misdemeanor, and with reckless endangerment, according to court records. The shootings took place during the protests demanding justice for Jacob Blake, who was shot by Kenosha police in August. Blake is now paralyzed from the waist down.
According to BBC.com, Rittenhouse’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 3.
