Captain Marvel and No Time to Die star Lashana Lynch is set to star as the angelic Miss Honey in the upcoming Matilda musical for Netflix.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lynch’s role was popularized by Embeth Davidtz in the 1996 Danny DeVito-directed version of Roald Dahl’s book. Davidtz starred opposite Mara Wilson, who played the title character.
Netflix’s musical is adapted from the hit Broadway musical and will be directed by the stage production’s director, Matthew Warchus.
Dennis Kelly, who wrote the play for Broadway, will write the script. Tim Minchin will provide lyrics and music. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce with The Roald Dahl Story Company’s Luke Kelly.
