Lashana Lynch To Star Opposite Eddie Redmayne In ‘The Day Of The Jackal’ Series Adaptation At Peacock/Sky

Lashana Lynch is joining Eddie Redmayne in the Peacock and Sky series The Day of the Jackal.

According to Variety, Lynch will star as Bianca, the agent who is doing everything she can to catch The Jackal, an assassin played by Redmanye.

The series is an adaptation of the novel by Frederick Forsyth, which led to the 1973 film, according to Variety. The series is described as “a bold modern reimagining” of both the novel and film while staying “true to the DNA of the original story while devling deeper into the chameleon like ‘anti-hero’ at the heart of the story in a high octane, cinematic, globetrotting ‘cat and mouse’ thriller set amidst the turbulent geo-political landscape of our time.”

The series is coming to Peacock and Sky from Universal International Studios and Carnival Films.

Lynch has prior experience playing a high-level agent with her role in the James Bond film No Time To Die. As she told Shadow and Act in 2021, her role in the film as a double-0 agent is “an example of where we can continue to go and the conversation that we need to continue to have.”

She is also not a stranger to action films from her powerful roles in The Woman King and Captain Marvel.

Lynch recently starred as the teacher Miss Honey in the Matilda musical film, streaming on Netflix. She also signed on to play Bob Marley’s wife Rita Marley in an upcoming Paramount biopic.
