Livingstone CIAA Defensive Rookie of the Year enters transfer portal

Livingstone star freshman defensive back Kevin Larkins Jr. is on the move.

“I want to thank the WHOLE Livingstone College football staff for giving me an opportunity to play at the collegiate level,” said Larkins in his statement announcing he was entering the transfer portal.

Larkins kicked off his college career in dominant fashion leading the country with eight interceptions along with four pass breakups.

He also recorded 40 total tackles (32 solo), 2 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He was named the CIAA Defensive Rookie of the Year and was named to the All-CIAA First Team.

The Blue Bears freshman was the only Livingstone player to be named to either the All-CIAA team or the All-CIAA Rookie team.

With Larkins leading the way, Livingstone ranked second in the CIAA in passing yards allowed (144.8) and tied for third in passing touchdowns allowed (12).
