Lizzo Has A Message For Trump And The Trans Community

A number of celebs took to social media on Tuesday following Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s announcement that the House of Representatives would launch a formal impeachment inquiry into whether Donald Trump worked with foreign governments to investigate political opponents.

Lizzo was among the celebs who celebrated the announcement, tweeting, “IM?MENT.”

Tuesday night, the singer carried that energy to her concert in New York City, telling the audience, “Y’all know what’s going on, it’s some crazy stuff going on right now. It rhymes with ‘going to the beach-ment.’ For those who don’t know let me spell it out for you IM-PEACH-MENT.”

Lizzo continued that Trump’s time in office should be enough to convince anyone that they are “more than qualified” to run the country or tackle anything they wish.

“Now, I said all of this to say that if you are a young woman or a young, queer, non-gender conforming person, from a different country or culture, you are more than qualified to run this country. More than qualified. Get into it!”

Other stars like Don Cheadle, Jackée Harry and Padma Lakshmi tweeted their support of the House’s decision to launch an impeachment inquiry.
