Love Jacked is a Fluffy Comedy with Heart

How many times have you met someone who you thought was “the one” only to discover that you real destiny was standing in front of you all along. Maya (Amber Stevens West) has reached a point in life as an artist where being “blocked” has become a reality.  So, in order to grab some inspiration she takes off to Africa.  What she finds there is fascinating, but it’s what she finds after returning home that changes her life forever.

Heavily influenced by her Dad (Keith David), Maya is determined to keep a secret and hatches a plan of epic proportions to avoid him and the rest of the family from finding out her true love (Demetrius Grosse)Mtumbie cheated.  So, she asks a complete stranger (Shamier Anderson) Malcolm to fill in and falls deeply in love with him instead.

Love Jacked is a wonderful showcase for Shamier Anderson as Malcolm.  I haven’t seen star power and chemistry like this on-screen since Diana Ross and Billy Dee Williams in Lady Sings The Blues.  Every time Malcolm flashes those pearly whites, women in the audience will just melt.  Amber Stevens West is adorably quirky as a young woman so eager to please her Dad that she will literally stoop to anything.  Of course, what would a black comedy be without Mike Epps (Uncle Rufus), Marla Gibbs (Rose) and Keith David (Ed).

If you are looking for something light and fluffy to make you smile, Love Jacked fits the bill.  Produced by Inner City Films, Love Jacked was released on October 26th
