'Lovecraft Country' Will Not Get A Season 2 At HBO

It’s official: Lovecraft Country will just be a one season show. After contemplating ideas about a second season for months, HBO has revealed that the story will end at season 1. The show was one of the most critically-acclaimed series of last year and is expected to garner multiple Emmy nods, particularly for the performances of its all-star cast.

Viewers know that the season wrapped up its story with just this one season and it was always sort of viewed as if it could be its own standalone story.

“We will not be moving forward with a second season of Lovecraft Country,” said HBO. “We are grateful for the dedication and artistry of the gifted cast and crew, and to Misha Green, who crafted this groundbreaking series. And to the fans, thank you for joining us on this journey.

Deadline first reported this news.

More to come.
