It’s no secret that Mariah Carey is a diva and is rumored to be extremely hard to work for. This reputation may be justified as more and more former employees have brought lawsuits against Carey. The latest suit to come to the superstar is by a former nanny claiming emotional distress and unpaid wages.

Maria Burges, the former nanny for Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, claims she was only paid $25 per hour to care for the twins belonging to the songstress and her ex-husband Nick Cannon. She says she was fired after speaking up about short checks and verbal abuse at the hands of the children’s bodyguard, Marcio Moto.

The suit alleges that Burges was never paid for traveling on tour and was verbally accosted by Moto on multiple occasions. She also explains that he threated to leave her stranded on the side of the road during a trip to Las Vegas.

This suit adds to a growing list of legal actions being taken by former employees of the 49-year-old music icon. The other suits include allegations from Lianna Shakhnazaryan, her former assistant and ex-manager, Stella Bulochnikov, for underpayment, abuse of power, exhortation and sexual harassment. A former housekeeper, Maria Salazar, also alleges she was inadequately paid.

There has been no comment or response from Carey or her team.
