Michigan linebacker who played with CFP national champs commits to Florida A&M

The Celebration Bowl champion Florida A&M Rattlers have added a transfer from the College Football Playoff champions.

Graduate transfer Jerome Nichols, a Michigan linebacker, announced his commitment to FAMU with two years of eligibility remaining.

Nichols is the eighth Power Five transfer the Rattlers have added this offseason.

The former Wolverine came to Michigan in 2020 as a walk-on out of Detroit Renaissance High School. After not seeing game action in his first two seasons, Nichols got his first opportunity to play as a junior.

Nichols appeared in two games, primarily participating on special teams against Hawaii and the University of Connecticut.

Last season, he got his first defensive snaps of his career, recording two assisted tackles against Indiana.

Nichols joins a Florida A&M defense that ranked third in the FCS in scoring defense and second in total defense.
