Talent agency Diverse Representation and Color of Change are partnering to open The Black Entertainment Executives Pipeline program. The program’s goal is to increase the number of Black television and film executives in Hollywood. Applications are now open.
The program is meant to pioneer a new way for Hollywood to locate and hire Black executives. “The program will serve as a framework and roadmap to identify qualified candidates across the country and provide selected participants with the tools to build successful and thriving careers as executives in the industry,” according to the announcement.
Six candidates will be selected for the first cohort, which will include a tuition-free virtual program focused on individual mentorship, specialized coursework, production and development experience and a speaker series. Several Hollywood studios, production companies and television networks are also participating in the cohort, providing candidates full exposure to prospective jobs.
