Drake’s “Toosie Slide” has inspired dance videos from everyone from Justin Bieber to Ciara.
Now Pete Davidson is putting his own spin on the viral sensation while in isolation. During last night’s episode of “SNL,” the comedian channeled Drake by recreating his “Toosie Slide” music video. Unlike the 6 God, who shot his video in his 50,000-square-foot Toronto mansion, Davidson filmed his hilarious parody in his mother’s basement and even had her direct it.
“I’m just out here having fun with my friends. We’re just making so much money,” says Davidson in the intro.
While basking under purple lights, Ariana Grande’e former boyfriend reflects on missing an ex in quarantine. “This is a Drake song / I miss my ex / This is a Drake song,” he sings while doing his own rendition of the “Toosie Slide” in the living room and kitchen.
Drake’s original “Toosie Slide” video has over 27 million views. Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, DJ Khaled, and Ciara have all participated in the viral dance challenge, sharing their videos on social media.
