On Friday (April 23), longtime friends and castmates appeared on the Tamron Hall Show and disclosed the unlikeliness of a reboot.

“It’s something that we wanted to happen,” said Arnold. “It’s something that we tried very hard for it to happen, but the way it looks to me, realistically, it’s not going to happen. Not unless it’s an animation.”

While speaking on the loss of Thomas Mikal Ford, who played the role of Thomas “Tommy” Strawn, the New York native adds that “a show can never ever be rebooted without the original cast.” As for a rebirth or a reunion of the series, it’s a possibility but without Ford, “the show is never going to be the same.”

In 2018, Campbell, Arnold, and Martin Lawrence were interviewed by TMZ and addressed the reboot rumors.

“Never say never,” said the Bad Boys For Life actor. “We don’t know anything right now, but never say never.”

Arnold concludes the segment by stating “some things are best left alone.”
