Former Alabama State and Seattle Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson was killed in a car accident Sunday night in Alabama according to multiple reports.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Tennessee State confirmed the news of Jackson’s death, where Jackson worked as the football team’s quarterback coach.

“Former #Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson died last night in a car accident in Alabama, a spokesperson for his employer Tennessee State tells me. Jackson, 36, was TSU’s QB coach. Along with Seattle, he also played for the #Vikings and #Bills,” Rapoport tweeted.
Jackson was selected in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. His NFL career spanned 10 seasons which included stints with the Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and the Buffalo Bills.
After transferring to Alabama State from the University of Arkansas, Jackson eventually led the Hornets to a victory in the 2004 SWAC Championship Game.
He became the quarterbacks coach at Tennessee State in 2019 after working as a quality control and quarterbacks coach at Alabama State.
He was 36 years old.
