Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Potomac is set to begin airing this summer and despite the receipt pulling season 5 reunion and the absence of shade queen Monique Samuels, it appears season 6 will be just as grand.
During the season 13 finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Bravo released a mere six-second teaser featuring the beloved Grand Dame, Karen Huger seemingly going to war with the “word on the street,” Gizelle Bryant.
The two longtime frenemies have been trading jabs since season one but the upcoming season gets a little hotter with Huger stating that Bryant has a “hot box.” Bryant shoots back, alleging Huger’s sex life with her husband Ray is non-existent. The other ladies, Robyn Dixon and Ashley Darby sit in awe of the verbal exchange as Wendy Osefo seemingly trying to make the mood lighter.
Not featured in the clip is returning cast member Candiace Dillard Bassett. At least one new housewife is reportedly joining in season 6 and she isn’t featured in the teaser either. Mia Thorton, a marketing director who owns a beauty/cosmetic company, as well as owns multiple chiropractic offices in the DMV area, is said to be the newest housewife. Thornton is allegedly friends with RHOP vet, Ashley Darby. Reports of her being added to the cast in any capacity have not yet been confirmed.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting updates for the franchise following a record-breaking season 5. Samuels quit the show after four seasons, citing producers being involved in cover-ups to protect Bryant. Samuels accuses Bryant of trying to orchestrate rumors of an extramarital affair that produced a child out of wedlock in order to tear her family apart. Bryant denies such. Producers also allege that Bryant never spoke ill of her child during the season. She also says she was unfairly questioned by Andy Cohen over her part in the fight with Dillard Bassett. It was enough for Samuels to quit, despite being asked to return.
