There is no record to date when humankind started consuming liquor as part of a celebration but according to National Geographic, spirits have long been a part of ancient societies. Jugs of liquor and wine were found in the United Kingdom and buried with King Tut in Egypt, and celebrations with spirits can be traced back to Ancient Greeks..
