Shemar Page, Grambling State two-way specialist, throws perfect game

Grambling State utility player Shemar Page completed one of baseball’s rarest feats by tossing a perfect game in a 16-0 win over Alcorn State Friday night.

Page, a graduate student who currently ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA in strikeouts with 98, fanned 13 more during the historic outing against the Braves over seven innings.

“Won’t EVER forget this one,” Page tweeted after the game. “Thank you Grambling State.”

For the season, Page — a Lousiana Tech transfer — carries a 2.67 ERA in 10 starts. At the plate, Page is hitting .347 with a .998 OPS and is slugging .560 in 75 at-bats in 2021 for the Tigers.
