Simone Biles took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate her one-year anniversary with her NFL player bae Jonathan Owens.
The decorated gymnast shared a photo of the couple matching each other’s fly in orange t-shirts and ripped denim jeans in celebration of making it past the one-year mark.
“Oops I forgot to tell y’all that we’ve been dating for more than a year so happy past 1 year to the best thing that’s ever happened to you: ME,” she captioned the adorable post.
The Houston Texans player left a comment letting Biles’ followers know that their love is the real deal.
“Time flies when your having fun. To many more with you baby,” Owens said with the fingers crossed emoji.
Owens is the second public relationship for Biles following her breakup with Stacey Ervin. The pair split back in March 2020 after nearly three years together, Life And Style Magazine reports.
While she never addressed what caused the breakup, she did speak about all the changes in her life that came during the quarantine.
“It’s hard being young and having that long of a relationship and then ending it,” Biles told Vogue for their August 2020 cover story. “But it was for the best.”
After linking up with Owens, Biles gushed about the NFL player in January 2021 during an appearance on the Today show.
“He’s a real man. I love him. We have a great time together,” she said. “Our personalities match right up. We have the same sense of humor. He’s just great. He’s an athlete, too, so we really understand each other, and I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless.”
During her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics, Owens praised his woman publicly and let everyone know he’s sticking beside her.
“Imma ride with you through whatever baby,” he captioned the post. “Your strength and courage is unmatched and you inspire me more and more everyday SB You always gone be my champ baby and don’t you ever forget that, i love you so much and i can’t wait till you come home and i get to see that beautiful smile again. You know I’m always here for you baby.”
Now that’s what we call a real man! Go, Simone!
