Southern University releases 2020 football schedule




Southern University released its 2020 football scheduled on Wednesday, which includes an 11-game schedule that features five home games and three nonconference opponents.

The Jaguars will open the season on Sept. 5 against Tennessee State in the Detroit Classic at Ford Field before playing their home opener on Sept. 12 at A.W. Mumford Stadium against Florida A&M in the Pete Richardson Classic.

Sept. 19 will mark Southern’s conference opener when the Jags travel to Huntsville, Alabama, to face Alabama A&M.

Southern will host Jackson State on Sept. 26 before the team travels to Montgomery, Alabama, to face Alabama State on Oct. 10.

The Jaguars will face Texas Southern on Oct. 17 in the State Fair Showdown in Dallas before returning home for a two-game homestand to face Alcorn State on Oct. 24 and Morehouse College for homecoming on Oct. 31.

Prairie View A&M will host Southern on Nov. 7 before the Jaguars play their final home game of the season on Nov. 14 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Southern will conclude its regular season on Nov. 28 against Grambling State in the Bayou Classic at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
