'Space Jam: A New Legacy' Releases First Footage Of Zendaya As Lola Bunny In New Preview

Since her transition from her Disney days, actress and singer Zendaya has gone to become one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, nabbing roles in films such as The Greatest Showman, Spider Man: Homecoming and its sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home.

On the television side, Zendaya has taken audiences by storm for her portrayal of Rue Bennett in the HBO Series Euphoria, for which she took home the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Now, audiences are getting an exclusive look at Zendaya in animated form for Space Jam: A New Legacy

This weekend, ESPN aired an advertisement promoting the release of the film titled “The Bunny & The GOAT.” In the ad, viewers get their first look at Zendaya voicing the character of Lola Bunny. In the Space Jam canon, Lola Bunny is depicted as a member of the Toon Squad and Bugs Bunny’s love interest.

Starring LeBron James, Space Jam: A New Legacy will be the highly anticipated sequel to the 1996 original. Malcolm D. Lee directed the film from a script by Juel Taylor, Tony Rettenmaier, Keenan Coogler and Terence Nance. James, Ryan Coogler, Maverick Carter and Duncan Henderson also produce.

The official description:  This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids. When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even “King” James by playing the game their own way.

The film will be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 and available on HBO Max for the first 30 days.  Watch “The Bunny & The GOAT” below.
