SWAC Tournament MVP PJ Henry entering transfer portal

Texas Southern is losing one of the players who carried the Tigers to an unlikely SWAC championship.

According to a social media announcement, PJ Henry, a two-year starter for Texas Southern, has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

“Texas Southern has been great to me these last 2 years, and I will cherish all moments,” Henry wrote on Twitter. “With that being said and with thoughts and prayer, I have decided to put my name in the transfer portal.”

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound point guard was named SWAC Tournament MVP last month after leading the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament. Henry, who previously transferred from Hartford in 2021, averaged 12.4 points per game and 2.1 assists this past season at Texas Southern.

Henry will have one season of eligibility remaining wherever he decides to transfer.
