The latest HBCU Band of the Year rankings are out. Which bands are No. 1?

The second installment of the 2024 ESPN Band of the Year rankings is out for Division I and Division II HBCU bands.

Here are the rankings for October and how the bands were judged by a committee of experts that included Jackson State Director of Bands Emeritus, Professor Dowell Taylor, and Dr. Julian E. White, FAMU Director of Bands Emeritus:

For the Division I rankings, North Carolina A&T is the leader at No. 1, followed by Florida A&M, Jackson State, Bethune-Cookman, and Norfolk State, rounding out the top 5.

In the Division II category, Virginia State is ranked No. 1 overall, with Florida Memorial, Savannah State, Langston, and Winston-Salem State in the top 5.
