‘The Little Mermaid’ Swims To Digital July 25, Exclusive Trailer Shows Walmart Design Showcase

Halle Bailey’s Ariel will be part of your world on July 25 when The Little Mermaid comes to digital. The film will also be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on Sept. 19. The exclusive trailer for the film gives fans a first look at the film’s box art design for Walmart and new features.

Viewers will be able to access exclusive bonus features, including a blooper reel, featurettes about the making of the film, song breakdowns, a sing-along version of the film and more. Here’s the full list of bonus features, as listed by Disney:

  • Sing Along Version Sing along with your favorite songs while watching the movie with on-screen lyrics.

Along with Bailey, The Little Mermaid stars Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Noma Dumezweni, Art Malik, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina. Rob Marshall directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dave Magree and John DeLuca. Marshal also produced with DeLuca, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Marc Platt. Jeffrey Silver executive produced. The film is the retelling of the 1989 Disney animated film based on Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale about a mermaid who wants to live on land in order to find love with a human.

The retelling of the animated classic has been one of Disney’s most successful reboots, with critics and fans alike praising Bailey’s version of Ariel as retaining the magic and beauty of the original character.
