*“I’ve been doing it for 20 years,” said Alternative R&B artist Deb Manso about her talents as a singer/songwriter.
Currently promoting her debut single “Word Play” off her upcoming debut EP, she continued, “I always wanted to do music (as a career). I was experiencing so much heartbreak and needed to be happy. One thing that makes me happy is music, but I’ve always had to fight for it.”
“The EP was written from an organic place,” Manso pointed out about her project.
Deb Manso is a New York native based in Brooklyn. She has also been labeled an Alternative Rock artist. Singing since she was five years old Deb kept singing throughout high school in the choirs. When growing up Manso’s father was an aspiring musician who introduced her to music that ranged from The Rolling Stones to Dionne Warwick. Her own influences came from her love of the music of Mariah Carey, Lana Del Ray, Stevie Nicks, Phoebe Bridges, Aretha Franklin, Nirvana, and FKA Twigs.
“Music is an investment,” she stressed to me when talking about her commitment to her music career. “I want to have a career (in music), I want to go on tour, score music on soundtracks and commercials, for TV pilots, movies, and TV shows.”
The beginning to that goal for Deb Manso starts with the release of her debut single “Word Play”, produced by Ken Helmlinger – a New York City engineer.
Manso also models and was recently featured in the campaign for Flamingo personal care products and will be in the upcoming campaign for Hers health and wellness products. www.DebManso.com
