The Weeknd Performs ‘Blinding Lights’ on ‘The Late Show’

Back to back.

After his epic performance of “Heartless” on Thursday’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” The Weeknd returned for an encore. The XO crooner delivered a thrilling performance of his other single “Blinding Lights” on Friday’s show.

He opened the black-and-white set while standing with his back to the camera inside a lit-up cube that looked out into the crowd at the Ed Sullivan Theater. Dressed in the same red blazer, wingtips, and sunglasses, Abel showed off his moves before emerging onto the stage as audience members held up mirrors and sang along to the lyrics.

The Weeknd is now gearing up for his long-awaited new project, his first since last year’s My Dear Melancholy, EP. But first, he will make his acting debut alongside Adam Sandler in the Safdie Brothers’ film Uncut Gems, which opens in theaters Dec. 13.
