Tory Lanez is not slowing down.
Hot off the release of Chixtape 5, the prolific artist is already lining up his next projects which include his long-awaited joint effort with Chris Brown. During a recent interview with Rap-Up, Tory revealed that they have recorded 9-10 tracks (“A little short EP joint”) and plan to return to the studio to finish.
“We about to lock in and get it going,” said Tory, who toured with Chris on his “INDIGOAT Tour” over the summer. “We could damn near put out a project right now if we wanted to.”
For now, the two can be heard on their Chixtape 5 collaboration “The Take,” which samples Chris’ 2008 hit “Take You Down.” They also recently collaborated on “Tell Me How You Feel” and “Lurkin” for Breezy’s Indigo album.
“When me and Chris work, we just work mad fast,” said Tory. “I didn’t think he would do it honestly and he just came out the clutch and sent it one day.”
In addition to Chris, Chixape 5 features a slew of big-name collaborations including Ashanti, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jagged Edge, Jermaine Dupri, The-Dream, Mýa, Trey Songz, Fabolous, and more.
“The Chixtape series is something that has a cult following. The Chixtape series is bigger than Tory Lanez,” added Tory. “I know that this means a lot to [my fans], bringing it back, because they thought that it was gonna end at 4. It’s a way more important experience this time.”
