*Tyrese Gibson is facing a hefty lien on his Georgia mansion, filed by his ex-wife Samantha Gibson’s legal team as part of their prolonged legal battle.
The Gleklen Law Firm filed the lien on September 17 against Tyrese’s 18,000-square-foot property in Atlanta, claiming he owes $217,231, plus interest, in court-ordered legal fees related to their case, Yahoo reports. The “Fast & Furious” star, who married Samantha in 2017 and split in 2020, was ordered to cover these fees stemming from their ongoing disputes. Gibson was arrested days before the lien during a court hearing for allegedly failing to pay child support.
According to reports from TMZ, Gibson must come up with $73,000 which includes $7,500 for Samantha’s attorney fees. As we reported earlier, the actor has expressed his intention to settle this amount promptly to regain his freedom.
This sentiment was echoed in a raw 15-minute video in which he articulated his feelings of being unjustly treated, especially as a man in the court system. “When you were born a man, you go into a courtroom and you understand clearly that there is a preset menu that says, ‘You were born a man, f—k you.’,” Gibson lamented.
Tyrse and his ex share a five-year-old daughter, Soraya. In April 2023, he was ordered to pay Samantha $10,000 a month in support. However, she claimed that the singer had only been paying $2,200 per month.
The day before the court hearing, Tyrese warned fans that he may be arrested, alleging that Samantha’s attorneys were conspiring against him and claiming that they share a close relationship with Judge Farmer.
“Samantha’s lawyer Adam Gleklen and William Alexander who are besties with the judge Kevin M Farmer [ collusion],” Tyrese wrote in a now-deleted post.
“We are APPEALLING [sic] ALL OF HIS RULINGS AND ALREADY HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS JUDGE THROWN OFF THE BENCH TWICE,” he said. “The second time we tried to get him recused from the bench. [ He actually denied his own request to be thrown off the bench] …imagine that???”
He continued, “It’s pretty clear that they hate my guts, but I must remind them and everything about my life and my success. I’ve worked my ass off since I was 14 years old to get here. #FamilyLawCourts are the WORST TOWARDS FATHERS.”
