*Usher got emotional during the final performance for his Las Vegas residency on Saturday.
In the TMZ clip below, the music superstar dropped to his knees on stage Saturday while singing “Without You.” Usher covered his face with his hands while surrounded by his dancers, other on-stage crew, and show collaborators, TMZ reports.
After wiping away some tears, Usher said, “God bless you, I love you.”
The singer’s “My Way” shows in Vegas started in July 2022 and wrapped on December 2 after a 100-concert run. He celebrated the final performance on X/Twitter, where Usher shared a clip of his interview with Trevor Nelson in 2004, discussing a potential residency in Sin City.
“I am such a theatrical artist,” Usher said at the time, People reports. “I would love to be in a space… if I did decide to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life.”
The R&B crooner added, “It wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh God, he’s washed up and this is just his opportunity to just, you know, collect as many checks as he wants to.’ No. It will be a phenomenal show.”
Meanwhile, the Grammy-winning artist is headlining the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show.
We reported previously via CNN that Usher will take to the field at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium during the halftime show presented by Apple Music.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list,” Usher said in a statement.
“I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” he added. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
The Super Bowl will air on CBS on February 11, 2024.
