If there’s one actress who knows how to cry on cue, it’s Viola Davis. Anyone who has watched How To Get Away with Murder, The Help, Lila and Eve, Fences, Widows and Doubt knows the revered actress is the queen of crying on command. Black Twitter knows it too.
Davis’ crying talents were highlighted in a tweet posted by both her and husband Julius Tennon’s production company JuVee Productions, with a caption that read “The Art Of Crying featuring Viola Davis.”

Davis took light of the caption and responded with humor. “I see what y’all write about my snot tears!!,” she said in a later caption.

In the same tweet, Davis also revealed that her iconic scene with Denzel Washington in Fences, in which she portrayed Rose Maxson, took 23 times to film. the effort paid off, as Davis won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal.
Davis was recently nominated for most major awards for her role as Ma Rainey in Netflix‘s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. She starred in the film alongside the late Chadwick Boseman.
