Our forever President Barack Obama will address in a virtual town the death of George Floyd, stressing the importance of “ensuring that this moment becomes one for real change” and that the protests around the country lead to new policies. The town hall is at 5 p.m. ET and is hosted by My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, a program of the Obama Foundation. You can watch it here.
Today Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison filed aiding and abetting charges against the three remaining officers involved in the death of Floyd saying they were “justified by the facts and the law.” Derek Chauvin, who had his knee pressed into Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, had previously been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter will now be charged with second-degree murder.
