Wide receiver Quay Davis commits to another HBCU school in transfer portal move

Former Texas Southern wide receiver Quay Davis is on the move once again after previously committing to Florida A&M, having entered the transfer portal following the 2023 season.

Davis is on his way to Baton Rouge committing to play for Southern. This is the fourth team Davis has committed to play for since 2021.

Coming out of high school in 2021 as a four-star recruit, Davis committed to Jackson State despite offers from Arkansas, LSU, and Oregon, among others.

He spent one season at JSU as part of the 2022 Tigers team that finished a perfect 11-0 in the regular season before winning their second straight SWAC title.

Following the dismissal of JSU head coach Deion Sanders, Davis transferred to Texas Southern, where he had his best statistical year in 2023.

He caught 18 passes for 216 yards and scored a touchdown, including seven passes for 120 yards and a touchdown in the season-opening performance against Prairie View A&M.

Davis once again entered the transfer portal after the 2023 season, committing to Florida A&M in March before landing with Southern.
